What does Dr. Maher mean by an “integrated” curriculum? In his words, Developing superior clinical skills alone isn’t enough. Over the years I’ve noticed that my one-on-one mentoring clients that enjoy the greatest practice growth are those who see their newfound skills ‘in context.’ ”

Dr. Maher continues, “As you know, dentists aren’t just technicians. They’re unique in that they’re technicians, consultants and marketing directors all at the same time! That’s why—if you really want to build your practice—it’s imperative for you to integrate your technical skills with a comprehensive approach to case acceptance and referral generation.”

The Integrated Curriculum includes three different courses that come together for optimal benefit to your practice. They include the Clinical Cosmetic Veneer Course, the Digital Photography Course, and the Effective New Patient Exam/Case Acceptance Course. Here is a brief overview of how these three courses are designed to work together to build your cosmetic caseload:

1. Digital Photography Training
Dr. Maher has taught this course for years as an independent offering, but the real power comes through learning how to take advantage of digital photography’s place in an integrated approach to your patients’ needs. Unobtrusive digital photography plays a key role in “self diagnosis.”

2. Effective New Patient Exams and Treatment Plans
“Having mentored hundreds of dentists, I continue to be surprised at how many dismiss the importance of effective new patient exams and treatment plans,” says Dr. Maher. Yes, digital photography plays a key presentation role, but there are many other well-thought-through techniques that help lead to increased case acceptance. Dr. Maher continues, “I love sharing these subtle, effective, non-threatening strategies with other dentists.”

3. Greater Case Acceptance
Obviously, no “hard sell” here. However, it’s important to realize that you are the expert. Patients rely on you, and most fully expect you to “assume the leadership role” in helping them determine what is best for their oral health and confidence. Even if you’ve never been comfortable before in this role, Dr. Maher will show you how. You’re in good hands, and you’ll be delighted at how his insight helps you feel more confident in furthering case acceptance.

4. Clinical Training
Dr. Bob Maher comes to you. His mentoring programs include visits to your office where he works side-by-side with you, your team, and your own patients. In addition to teaching advanced clinical skills, Dr. Maher helps your staff understand your goals and desires. He provides a wealth of hands-on material covering the entire spectrum of esthetic restorative dentistry from occlusal composites to full mouth reconstruction.

5. Superior Treatment
What’s the natural result of greater clinical skills? That’s right... Superior treatment that turns patients into evangelists.

6. Compelling Materials & Patient Referrals
Yes, Dr. Maher knows. He’s heard it a million times. You say you’ve tried tons of ways to get more referrals but nothing seems to really work. Again, Dr. Maher says, “In most cases, it’s a combination of a few factors. First, your program may not be compelling. Second, your materials may be underwhelming. And third, your team may not be on board. I can teach you how to tighten up these three problem areas to round out my integrated program.
